Jennifer Fick, DVM Diplomate ACVS

Overview:

Dr. Fick has been providing speciality surgical services to Colorado pets and their human companions for over 16 years.  She is dedicated to helping her patients through meticulous attention to detail and compassionate care.  Dr. Fick understands the importance of the trust that exists between pet owners and their family veterinarians and works to build upon that trust by working directly with family veterinarians to bring specialty surgery into their hospitals.

Education

Dr. Fick grew up in suburban Chicago and realized at a very young age that her future would revolve around animals.  She attended Carleton College in Northfield, MN and graduated magna cum laude.  She attended veterinary school at the University of Minnesota, graduating at the top of her class.  After graduation, she was accepted into a 1 year internship at the Michigan State Veterinary Teaching Hospital.  Directly after that, she pursued a 3 year surgical residency program at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine.  Upon completion of her residency, she accepted a 1 year clinical instructor position at the University of Florida, during which time she passed the board examination to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Experience:

Dr. Fick moved to Colorado in 2006 and worked for multi-doctor specialty hospitals through 2013.  In 2014 she began working for a mobile surgery company and has provided mobile surgery services along the I-25 corridor for the past 8 years.

Now she has started her own company, Sanitas Valley Veterinary Surgery, and is excited to continue to serve Colorado pets for years to come.

Dr. Fick lives in Boulder, CO with her husband, german shepherd, and two cats.

Nicole DeJulio, CVT

Nicole was born and raised in Colorado. In June 2011, she graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology and became a Certified Veterinary Technician. For the first few years of her career, Nicole worked in a general practice where she developed a passion for birds, laboratory work, and surgery. Her interest in surgery eventually led her to work in a mobile surgery practice with Dr. Fick for 4 years.  Nicole then spent a couple years working in cardiology before joining Sanitas Valley Veterinary Surgery in April 2022.

Nicole lives with her twin sister (who is also a CVT) and her father, along with a small menagerie of pets. When not at work, she enjoys road trips with her sister, reading with her cats, going to the mountains with her dogs, and watching any decent looking horror movie.
